Maintenance Mechanic 3 (Lead Maintenance Mechanic Fire Alarm Technician)

Join our team at Western State Hospital, an adult psychiatric hospital, where you’ll guide others and ensure our facilities operate at their best.

• Maintenance and repairs in life safety, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Fire alarm and fire suppression system testing and maintenance.
• Lead team workflow, guide safety policies and procedures, and assist staff with operational procedures.
• Install and maintain plumbing, electrical, and mechanical fixtures; repair HVAC, laundry, kitchen equipment, gates, and hydrants.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repair on all types of mechanical equipment.
• Emergency lighting testing.
• Minor appliance repairs.
• Develop solutions to repair and maintenance issues.
• Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and sketches.

Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade and one year of experience as a journey-level worker in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work (experience in a trade may substitute for an apprenticeship).

A NICET Level 2 Fire Alarm Systems certification.
