This Maintenance Mechanic 2 position performs journey level duties in the construction, maintenance, inspection, installation, and repair of campus facilities. This position performs a variety of skilled work in trades such as painting, carpentry, masonry, concrete, and sheetrock installation. This position works independently in routine maintenance assignments.
Essential Functions- Duty:
Maintenance and Repair
- Painting:
Prepare surfaces, repair by filling with putty, caulks, fiberglass, or resin and apply paint on exterior and interior walls. - Sheetrock installation:
Make repairs in plaster and sheetrock, tape, and fairing sheetrock seams. - Carpentry:
Prepare and finish or refinish woodwork and cabinets, build interior metal stud walls, hang and finish sheetrock, install wooden and metal framed doors, layout and install carpet squares and floor tiles, layout and build complete structures from plans, etc. - Electrical:
Install outlets, network outlet, troubleshoot electrical problems, change light bulbs, hang whiteboard, televisions and other information technology items. - Concrete:
Form and pour concrete slabs, walkways, footings, stairs, and ADA ramps, layout and build forms to meet specifications; accurately calculate and order required materials (yardage), cut, dismantl
