St. William Catholic School in Walled Lake, Michigan, is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and faith-filled educator to serve as our Part-Time Stem & Life Skills Teacher beginning with the  school year.

We are seeking a teacher who finds joy in helping students discover, create, problem-solve, and collaborate while integrating Catholic values into meaningful learning experiences.

This is an exciting opportunity to launch and grow a new K–8 Stem program while teaching a practical Life Skills curriculum for middle school students.

The Stem teacher will design and implement engaging, hands-on learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, innovation, and critical thinking. Instruction should inspire students to investigate real-world problems while integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through project-based learning.

• Develop and implement an engaging K–8 Stem curriculum.
• Create hands-on learning experiences that foster inquiry, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
• Integrate engineering design, coding, robotics, technology, and maker-centered learning when appropriate.
• Encourage innovation while connecting Stem concepts to everyday life.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support cross-curricular learning opportunities.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Foster a classroom environment where curiosity, perseverance, and teamwork are celebrated.
• Maintain and organize Stem materials, technology, and classroom resources.

The Life Skills program prepares middle school students to become responsible, organized, compassionate, and capable young adults rooted in Catholic values.

Topics may include:

• Executive functioning and organization
• Study skills and time management
• Financial literacy and budgeting
• Career awareness and goal setting
• Communication and collaboration skills
• Digital citizenship
• Leadership and service
• Independent living skills
• Decision-making and problem-solving
• Health, wellness, and personal responsibility

The curriculum should provide students with practical skills that prepare them for success in high school, college, careers, and daily life.

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate or ability to obtain certification preferred.
• Passion for Stem education and hands-on, project-based learning.
• Ability to inspire creativity and innovation in students.
• Experience integrating technology into instruction is preferred.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Believes in or is open to supporting an inclusive classroom environment.
• Finds joy in bringing children closer to Christ and preparing them to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
• Supports the mission and values of Catholic education.
