Qualifications:
- Possess a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Work or Counseling; AND Have a LLMSW or LLPC from the State of Michigan.
- Must meet qualifications of a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) per the Michigan PIHP/CMHSP Provider Qualification per Medicaid Services
- Demonstrated strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Valid Michigan driver’s license and active auto insurance required
- Knowledge of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Ability to maintain 24 hours of Child Diagnostic Treatment Services training
Essential Job Functions:
- Engage individuals in a welcoming, hopeful, empathetic manner.
- Collaborates as part of the Children's Rapid Response Team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating services for individuals/families with psychiatric, comorbid, and/or co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders.
- Implement integrated strength based assessment(s) interviews to assess the presence, onset, symptoms and patterns of behavioral health, substance use, and psychiatric disorders. Assess for acute needs and risk and provide/arrange for appropriate stage wise intervention. Demonstrate the knowledge of diagnostic criteria for psychiatric and substance use disorders.
- Responsible for rapid response to an individual/family in crisis within 1 hour of the determination.
- Provide intensive stabilization services and intervention including individual, group, or family psychotherapy. Evaluates the progress of individuals on an on-going basis.
- May perform case management functions and act as a liaison with school and/or vocational personnel and other community agencies to refer individuals, formulate and execute treatment plans, and provide educational and consultative services.
- Attends team huddles to review barrier and progress towards stabilization of person served.
- Assist individuals with identifying changes in behavior, attitudes, feelings and thoughts that are triggers for relapse. Assist in the development of a relapse prevention/crisis plan utilizing personal, community and provider supports.
- Communicate and collaborate with other providers across systems to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborates across disciplines for co-treatment/consultation of complex co-occurring mental health needs and Substance Use Disorders.
- Assists individuals with medication needs and coordinates with psychiatrist as appropriate based on treatment needs. Provide support, education, and reinforce the use of prescribed medications.
- Completes and maintains all paperwork in accordance with funding source as well as Easterseals MORC policies and procedures.
- Performs crisis intervention as needed.
- Travels to various locations throughout Oakland County provide crisis intervention which may include individual and/or family therapy.
- Demonstrates knowledge of principles of trauma informed care.
- Willingness to support and assist individuals with trauma related issues.
Masters or better in Counseling.
Masters or better in Social Work.
