OverviewAre you a skilled tradesperson who loves the hands-on work of home improvement but dislikes the constant hassle of chasing leads, bidding on jobs, and managing paperwork? This role offers the perfect balance: the independence of working in the field combined with the stability and support of an established national brand.
As a Senior Craftsman, you will perform a variety of medium-to-small home repairs and improvements for residential and light commercial customers. We handle the marketing, scheduling, and billing so you can focus on what you do best: delivering high-quality craftsmanship and helping people in your community love their homes.
What Success Looks LikeIn this role, success is measured by the quality of your work and the satisfaction of your customers. Here is how that plays out:
- Day-to-day: You will review your daily schedule on our dispatch app, travel to scheduled appointments, and complete jobs that range from drywall repair and carpentry to light plumbing and electrical work. You will communicate clearly with homeowners, explain the scope of work, complete tasks efficiently, and leave every workspace clean.
- Over time: You will build a reputation as a trusted, go-to expert in the community. You will consistently complete jobs within estimated time frames, maintain high customer satisfaction scores, and serve as a technical resource or mentor to newer team members.
- Complete a diverse range of home repairs and installations, including carpentry, drywall patching, door/window adjustments, tiling, minor plumbing (like replacing faucets), and light electrical (like installing ceiling fans).
- Evaluate customer requests on-site, verify the scope of work, and explain the repair process clearly to the homeowner.
- Manage your time efficiently to ensure jobs are completed on schedule.
- Document completed work and collect payments using our mobile application.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean workspace at every job site.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in home remodeling, maintenance, or multi-trade carpentry.
- A comprehensive set of your own hand and power tools suited for a wide variety of home repair tasks.
- A valid driver's license and a reliable, insured truck or van suitable for transporting tools and materials.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve unexpected repair challenges independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, respectful demeanor when interacting with customers in their homes.
- Ability to pass a standard background check.
- Experience using mobile apps for scheduling, job dispatch, or customer management.
- Specialized skills or certifications in specific trades (e.g., advanced tiling, custom trim work, or deck building).
- Prior experience running your own small repair business or working in a residential service role.
- Stability: Regular, year-round W2 employment with consistent weekly pay. No 1099 uncertainties.
- Independence: You work independently in the field without micro-management.
- Administrative Support: Our office team schedules your jobs, coordinates material delivery when needed, and handles all billing and customer service.
- Work-Life Balance: Standard Monday through Friday daytime hours. No regular evening or weekend shifts, and no on-call emergencies.
