Qualifications

* Master's Degree in School Social Work

* Valid State of Michigan Certification as a School Social Worker

Essential Duties

* Provide school social work support and services to general education students as part of the District Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)

* Provide school social work support and services to students who have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Section 504 Plans

* Experience working with students with disabilities

* Strong knowledge of a wide range of psychiatric disorders

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team

* Effective collaboration with parents, educational staff and community agencies to coordinate programs and services for students and families

* Strong diagnostic skills and experience participating in the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team process

* Experience facilitating the IEP process and engagement in the Section 504 Process

* Knowledge and use of Positive Behavioral Supports

* Active participant in functional behavioral analysis (FBA) and development of behavior intervention plans (BIP)

* Administration of Threat and Risk Assessments

* Trained in, or willing to be trained in non-violent crisis intervention

* Conduct home visits as appropriate

* Maintain accurate and confidential records

* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable

Salary

Appropriate placement on the current Teacher's Master Agreement.
