Job Description:

Instructional Coordinator - Special Education

Advance teacher effectiveness, and student potential! In this role, you will coach, model, and support special education teachers in delivering high-quality, instruction. This position partners closely with administration and school teams to strengthen instructional practice, improve student outcomes, support compliance, and ensure high-quality implementation of IEPs, assessments, curriculum, and instructional programming.

Essential Responsibilities

Instructional Coaching and Teacher Support

* Coach, mentor, and support special education teachers to improve instructional effectiveness and student outcomes.

* Model evidence-based instructional strategies, interventions, and classroom practices.

* Provide job-embedded feedback and support related to lesson planning, instruction, classroom management, and student engagement.

* Support implementation of specially designed instruction aligned with student needs, IEPs, curriculum standards, and district expectations.

* Serve as a resource for teachers regarding instructional practices, case management, and classroom systems.

* Facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration and maintain documentation related to coaching and support activities.

IEP Development and Compliance

* Support staff in developing high-quality IEPs and progress monitoring.

* Provide guidance regarding CT-SEDS documentation and special education procedures.

* Review IEPs and related documentation for quality, accuracy, and compliance.

* Monitor timelines and requirements related to evaluations, annual reviews, reevaluations, and progress reporting.

Assessment and Data Analysis

* Coordinate and support assessments, screenings, and testing activities.

* Assist staff in collecting, analyzing, and utilizing student performance data to inform instruction and interventions.

* Support implementation of testing accommodations and assessment procedures.

* Use data to identify instructional strengths, needs, and opportunities for program improvement.

Collaboration and Program Support

* Partner with administrators and school teams to support instructional quality, student achievement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

* Participate in classroom observations, team meetings, problem-solving discussions, and IEP/PPT meetings.

* Support alignment of curriculum, instruction, assessment, behavior supports, and special education programming.

* Assist with professional development related to instructional practices, compliance, assessment, and intervention strategies.

Qualifications

* Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field preferred.

* Valid special education certification required.

* Minimum of three years of successful special education teaching experience required.

* Experience in instructional coaching, teacher leadership, or professional development preferred.

* Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, compliance requirements, and specially designed instruction.

* Experience with CT-SEDS and special education documentation systems preferred.

* Knowledge of assessment practices, data analysis, curriculum adaptation, and evidence-based instructional strategies.

* Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Salary

Minimum of $72,000 and commensurate with experience and qualification
