SUMMARY:
The Residential Rehabilitation Technician assists Traurig House Residents in functional physical and/or cognitive tasks necessary to reintegrate into the community at the highest level possible.
Responsibilities- Assist with ADLs, home management, physical mobility and IADL tasks, while promoting the Residents' greater independence.
- Assist with meal planning, prep and food ordering.
- Administer medication, documentation and ordering of medications from outside vendor.
- Monitor vital signs, fluid and food intake as ordered. Assure resident’s orders are followed such as lab orders, activity and code status.
- Assist resident to carryover skills learned in therapy.
- Assist with community reintegration activities and tasks.
- Give feedback to treating therapists re:
Residents' skills in a home-like environment. - Maintains a safe, clean, supportive environment for the residents on the assigned shift.
High School Diploma or GED and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be or become CPR and First Aid certified through American Heart Association within three months of hire. Medication Administration Certified or must obtain certification within six months of hire.
Must have a current and valid CT Driver's license in order to operate hospital vehicles.
