Position overview

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading all Safety and Health programs to ensure regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and a strong safety culture across the site. This role oversees industrial hygiene, reporting requirements, auditing, emergency response, and employee training. The Safety Manager partners with cross‑functional teams to assess risks, maintain Safety certifications, and support occupational health initiatives. The role plays a critical part in promoting hazard awareness, ensuring adherence to allnex policies, and continuously improving Safety performance.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and ensure full compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements, including OSHA recordkeeping/reporting, manufacturing and transportation regulations, and ongoing certification and audit activities within the SHE Management System (serving as Lead Auditor when required).
  • Lead industrial hygiene and occupational health programs by conducting monitoring and reporting activities in partnership with the medical group and maintaining all related documentation.
  • Oversee and continuously improve the Safety components of the Site SHE Interaction Plan, strengthening hazard recognition, supporting a strong safety culture, and managing the Safety Committee to drive proactive improvements.
  • Serve as a primary site contact for emergency preparedness and response, including planning for spills, fires, injuries, and other emergency scenarios, ensuring timely management and follow‑up actions.
  • Develop and deliver all required safety training and employee certifications, maintain accurate records in Explore/Roll Call (or equivalent systems), lead the annual training plan, and participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) initiatives.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update safety documentation including training materials, work instructions, and incident reports, while conducting thorough root cause analyses for safety events and driving corrective actions to closure.
  • Implement and promote behavioral safety initiatives that engage employees in proactive hazard identification and improvement activities, ensuring strong participation across all levels of the workforce.
  • Partner with Operations to enhance workplace organization and conditions, leading 5S and housekeeping programs, conducting regular Gemba walks and audits, and tracking tasks to ensure timely completion and continuous improvement.
Required skills and experience
  • 5–7 years of SHE-related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of local and regional SHE regulations and experience interacting with auditors and regulatory officials.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Safety, Health, or related field.
