SUMMARY
Assists therapist and assistants with implementation of treatment program under direct supervision and provides levels of support services as needed for the operations of the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assists with the provision of direct patient care
- Gives professional staff assistance appropriately for evaluative and treatment activities i.e. routine vitals monitoring
- Performs routine, established activities directly supervised by a professional staff member. Independently performs non-supervised activities, such as ROM.
- Utilizes appropriate safety techniques regarding self and patient
- Takes cultural diversity and population specific issues into consideration and utilizes this knowledge appropriately in the delivery of patient care
2. Provides non-direct patient care
- Always helps maintain a clean treatment area and work environment, including listed aide duties
- Provides appropriate telephone coverage and clerical support as needed
- Helps with supply inventory and retrieval of equipment/supplies when needed
3. Interacts appropriately through clinical communication
- Communicates clearly and timely with other departmental personnel
- Communicates professionally with other hospital personnel
- Keeps supervisor informed of clinical issues, problems or concerns related to job role, and any other issues related to job performance
- Keeps primary therapist aware of patient care issues
4. Professionalism

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Must be able to carry out clinical skills in any setting as needed
