Job DescriptionJob Title: Property Paralegal
Location: Wallingford/Oxford/Hybrid
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Accountability: Property Team Leader and the Board
Employment Status: Permanent Contract
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLEThe primary role of the Paralegal is to provide direct support to Fee Earners undertaking any administrative and basic legal activities as guided by the Fee Earner to enable Fee Earners to achieve optimum efficiency. This will include, but is not limited to, the main responsibilities outlined below. The property paralegal is expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative.

Ensure Fee Earners remain as productive as possible by removing all administrative and legal functions from property transactions. This will also include, but is not limited to:
- Provide quotes and estimates.
- Generating Client Care letters to clients, issuing contract packs, and raising standard enquiries.
- Conduct file opening, anti-money laundering procedures, file maintenance, file closure and archiving.
- Supporting fee earners in client relationships, getting to know clients, maintaining accurate data (addresses, contacts, CRM), and providing regular client reporting, delivering exceptional service.
- Prepare and manage correspondence, documents and associate filing.
- Prepare SDLT forms and Land Registry applications in conjunction with his/her team members.
- Make appointments, arrange meetings and maintain an up-to-date diary for his/her team members.
- Prepare completion statements and handle account transfers and payments.
- Deal with completion formalities after the exchange of contracts.
- Provide support to all team members as required.
- Undertake any required training.
- Ensure the confidentiality of all firm and client documentation and information.
- Prepare client invoices and financial statements.
- Complete forms for accounts transactions, including CHAPS payments and preparation of bills.
