Pro Health is seeking a Transportation Specialist (PT 20 hours) to join our growing team.
The Transportation Specialist is responsible for driving a company vehicle on a set route to deliver and pick up mail, pick up specimens and deliver them back to the lab for processing. The Transportation Specialist will work together as a team with all employees of Pro Health Physicians in an effort to improve its services to our patients. The incumbent will assume responsibilities for completing route assignments in a timely fashion.
Location: 950 Yale Avenue, Ste 1 - 6 Wallingford, CT (home site)
Schedule: 20 hour (Monday 11am – 7:30pm, Friday 4pm – 9pm, Saturday 10:30am – 4pm)
Primary Responsibilities- Deliver and pick up mail and supplies to the offices
- Pick up specimens and store appropriately for transport
- Fill out route sheet completely and accurately
- Go to each stop on the route sheet and check every specimen box for specimens
- Complete sign‑in sheet accurately with return time and number of specimens
- Ensure specimen count matches what the processors count
- Adapt to changes in scheduling due to weather, holidays or traffic
- Operate a company‑owned vehicle following all state laws
- Perform a safety check of the vehicle, ensuring all items necessary for proper storage are packed before departure; this includes ice for the cooler, dry ice for frozen specimens, cooler bag, route sheet and information binder are all in the car
- Ensure all materials are accounted for and deliveries go to the proper destination
- Represent PHP Laboratory when dealing with Offices and Quest stations
- Maintain a clean vehicle inside and outside
- Comfortable lifting up to 20lbs

Required Qualifications- High school diploma/GED
- Access to reliable transportation & a valid U.S. driver’s license
- Current motor vehicle record in good standing
- Previous experience as a delivery driver
Pay is based on several factors including, but not limited to, local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $25.00 per hour based on full‑time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
