PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)In the Department of Developmental Services, Resources Management Unit this class is accountable for supervising a staff engaged in ensuring the fiscal and operational practices of contracted private providers are provided to consumers in accordance with state agency standards.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES- Schedules, assigns, oversees and reviews work of staff;
- Provides staff training and assistance;
- Conducts performance evaluations;
- Determines priorities and plans unit work;
- Establishes and maintains unit procedures;
- Makes recommendations on development of policies and standards;
- Acts as liaison with other operating units, agencies and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures;
- Reviews and monitors the services provided by private providers to ensure terms of the contract are satisfied;
- Coordinates the review of individual service changes through the Planning and Resource Allocation Team (PRAT) or Utilization Resource Review (URR);
- Reviews contracts to ensure quality of services are provided;
- Provides direction to private providers on contract interpretation related to programmatic, fiscal and quality concerns;
- Reviews, analyzes, monitors and ensures private provider Plans of Correction are achieved;
- Conducts and monitors the annual review process;
- Prepares reports and correspondence;
- May conduct on site visits to assure private providers are in compliance with Department standards;
- Performs related duties as required.
- Considerable knowledge of modern methods of care, program design, treatment and education of individuals with an intellectual disability living in various community settings;

- Knowledge of business finance and accounting procedures;
- Considerable interpersonal skills;
- oral and written communication skills;
- Considerable ability to analyze and critique private agency's, organization's and individual practitioner's recordkeeping and financial statements;
- Ability to utilize computer software;
- Supervisory ability.
Seven (7) years of professional experience in a human services setting providing services and supports to individuals with an intellectual disability.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCETwo (2) years of the General Experience must have been conducting fiscal analysis and oversight of individual budgets/plans.
