Cable Assembler, Connectors

Summary

Qualified candidates for this position will have experience with electrical assemblies, soldering, or cable assemblies.

• Follows assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and required parts; gathering parts, tools, and materials.
• Perform a wide variety of hand, bench, and simple machine operations to prepare and/or assemble connectors and related units following established methods and procedures.
• Perform stock handling duties as required to identify and issue supplies, parts, and other items for departmental usage
• Perform simple drilling, milling, threading, taping, soldering, brazing assembly following established practice and/or specific instructions
• Visually check parts and assemblies for burrs or other disqualifying elements and make routine repairs as necessary
• Detect and report defective material, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to supervisor
• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Verifies specifications by measuring completed assemblies.
• Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications.
• Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to stand, twist and bend up to 50% of the time
• Strong organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail
