Calibration Technician Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Calibration Technician to support the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of inspection, measuring, and test equipment used throughout our manufacturing operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining equipment traceability and supporting quality system requirements through the calibration, verification, and maintenance of a wide variety of instruments.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a solid understanding of calibration principles, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and emergency calibrations of inspection, measuring, and test equipment in accordance with established procedures, customer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Administer and maintain the company's Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) calibration program, ensuring all equipment remains compliant with calibration schedules.
  • Calibrate, verify, and maintain a variety of equipment, including:
    • Precision hand gages
    • Weight scales
    • Surface plates
    • Industrial ovens
    • Thermocouples and temperature measurement devices
    • Pressure gages
    • Electrical test and measurement instruments
  • Maintain accurate calibration records, certificates, and traceability documentation within the calibration management system.
  • Identify out-of-tolerance conditions, assist with investigations, and support corrective action activities when necessary.
  • Coordinate internal and external calibration services and track equipment status to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain calibration standards, equipment, and work areas in accordance with safety and quality requirements.
  • Support audits, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts related to measurement control and calibration processes.
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production personnel to address calibration-related concerns and ensure equipment readiness.
Qualifications Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical school, vocational training, or related education is preferred.
Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Strong understanding of calibration principles, measurement control practices, and applicable industry standards.
  • Experience calibrating mechanical, dimensional, pressure, temperature, and electrical measurement equipment.
  • Ability to calibrate and verify common inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, indicators, surface plates, ovens, thermocouples, and similar devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience maintaining calibration records and working with calibration tracking systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple calibration activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform hands-on work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Corrected vision meeting 20/20 requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous calibration experience within aerospace, defense, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025, ANSI Z540, AS9100, or similar quality and calibration standards.
  • Experience using Fluke calibration equipment, electrical test instruments, and temperature measurement systems.
  • Knowledge of calibration management software such as Gage Trak or similar systems.
  • Experience supporting customer, internal, or third-party quality audits.
  • Ability to evaluate out-of-tolerance conditions and assist with root cause investigations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other computer-based quality systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
