Machine Operator (On-Site | Permanent)

Hourly | Full-Time; 1st & 2nd Shift Available

Description

Assists with day‑to‑day activities throughout the department and manages workflow in conjunction with the Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate tasks based on daily assignments; make staffing task adjustments as needed.
  • If certified, train operators using TWI methodology as requested/required.
  • Operate equipment and fill in when needed.
  • Perform inventory as required.
  • Monitor and manage inventory supply.
  • Ensure product  traceability is maintained by accurately filling out required paperwork (followers, inspection ticket, etc.). Monitor and champion production goals to all employees.
  • Participate in problem‑solving activities.
  • Recognize potential production problems as they occur and attempt corrective action; work with supervisors, operators, tool room engineers, QC, etc. to resolve problems.
  • Participate in/facilitate delivery meetings or discussions as required; communicate equipment status and turnover information to alternate shift and/or assist operators with any problems and/or ensure shift turnover sheet is completed correctly.
  • Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment by following 6S standards.
  • Properly follow all H&M procedures and policies.
  • Use and enforce the correct PPE per JHAs and job descriptions. If safety shoes are required, they must be rated F2412 and F2413.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities, including the Idea System.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
  • High school diploma, technical school diploma, or GED preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Effective communication in one‑on‑one and small group situations with other employees.
  • Basic math skills using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to lead and participate in problem‑solving groups.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
