Working as Full-time Manufacturing Tool Room-Carbide Die Finisher/Tool Crib Machinist, you will be responsible for making, altering and repairing a wide range of carbide dies and integrated parts generally for use on heading machines.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Planning and performing a variety of roughing out, boring, facing, turning, lapping, finishing and grinding operations to make, alter and repair a wide range of carbide dies and integrated parts generally for use on heading machines
• Fabricating special tools for the Research and Development department occasionally
• Setting up and operating bench lathe for precise and difficult machining using diamond, diamond dust and paste or other abrasive materials
• Selecting, installing and adjusting tool compounds and tail stock and making necessary brass arbors and laps
• Checking work with fixed and adjustable measuring instruments to maintain very close tolerances and making necessary adjustments to ensure conformance with specifications
• Instructing and/or assisting employees and other operators as needed
• Following all safety rules and regulations

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

• 18 years of age or older, due to the nature of work
• Prior experience working with machinery and tooling
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrate an excellent safety record
• Read and interpret written instructions
• Demonstrate basic math skills including decimals and fractions
• Desire to continuously improve manufacturing processes
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Demonstrate strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and quality

• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
