Salary: $25 - $40 per hour
Job Details- Build, repair, maintain, and modify plastic injection molds, dies, fixtures, and tooling to support production requirements
- Diagnose mold issues including flash, dimensional problems, wear, damage, alignment issues, cooling problems, and other tooling related defects
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on injection molds to improve reliability, extend tooling life, and reduce production downtime
- Disassemble molds, inspect individual components, identify worn or damaged parts, complete repairs, and properly reassemble tooling for production
- Set up and operate manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, and other precision machine tools
- Machine, fit, and finish mold components such as cores, cavities, inserts, pins, bushings, slides, and other tooling components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and tooling specifications to complete repairs and modifications accurately
- Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other inspection equipment
- Troubleshoot molds directly with production and processing teams to identify root causes of tooling related quality or performance issues
- Perform polishing, grinding, fitting, spotting, and bench work required to bring molds and components back to specification
- Support mold changes, engineering modifications, and continuous improvement projects to improve cycle times, part quality, and overall mold performance
- Maintain accurate records of mold repairs, preventative maintenance, modifications, and tooling history
- Work closely with engineering, maintenance, quality, and production teams to minimize downtime and keep injection molding operations running efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tool room while properly caring for machines, tools, and equipment
We are a growing plastic injection molding company looking to add an experienced Tool and Die Machinist to our team. This is a hands on position for someone who has experience working with injection molds and understands what it takes to keep tooling running properly. You will join a small, experienced team with the opportunity to take on more responsibility and grow with the company.
