The Masonicare Health Center is a 260‑bed Skilled Nursing Facility located in Wallingford, CT.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing and the Director of Nursing, the Nursing Supervisor has the authority and responsibility to carry out established standards of practice and care, and to provide direction in the ongoing delivery of nursing services. Working in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Managers, the Nursing Supervisor takes all reasonable steps to ensure the quality, safety, and appropriateness of care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives to ensure that standards of nursing practice are consistently met throughout the MHC facility.
- Uphold the nursing program during the off shift through the allocation of nursing personnel, coordination of nursing activities, supervision of nursing staff, and serve as a clinical resource to all staff.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age, needs, and abilities of residents and patients in the assigned unit. Interact professionally with staff, physicians, patients, and families to ensure effective and efficient delivery of care.
- Communicate effectively to all staff through verbal reports and written documentation, and attend administrative meetings to disseminate important information to off‑shift staff.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs both in and out of the facility.
- Attend all mandatory education programs and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
Graduate of a school of professional nursing, BS in nursing, or a healthcare‑related field preferred.
Experience:
1–2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
Registration and current RN license in the State of Connecticut; CPR certification.
