Job Summary: Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Unit Nurse Leader (UNL) will act as a resource and provide support and oversight of the nursing unit's daily operations. The UNL will also serve as a liaison between nursing leadership and the frontline staff, playing a pivotal role in quality and nursing initiatives, along with other assigned duties.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the below. Other duties may be assigned.
- Serves as a resource for the frontline staff, the UNL must be knowledgeable of clinical skills, nursing policy, and procedures
- Consistently rounds on staff, new hires, preceptors, patients, and families
- Assists with educational initiatives and in-services as needed
- Serves as a “Super User” for the nursing unit (i.e. IV, Pyxis, IV Pump, etc.)
- ASN required; BSN preferred and strongly encouraged to obtain
- 1 year of nursing experience at Gaylord Hospital required
- Current CT RN license required
- BLS & ACLS Certifications required
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours, days, 7 am - 3:30 pm, Monday
- Friday
