The Masonicare Health Center is a 260‑bed Skilled Nursing Facility located in Wallingford, CT.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing and the Director of Nursing, the Nursing Supervisor has the authority and responsibility for carrying out established standards of practice and care, and providing direction in the continuing provision of nursing services. The Supervisor works in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Managers to ensure quality, safety, and appropriateness of care.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives to ensure that nursing practice standards are met throughout the facility.
- Upholds the nursing program during the off shift through allocation of nursing personnel, coordination of nursing activities, supervision of staff, and serves as a clinical resource.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill to provide care based on physical, psycho‑social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the resident/patient's age, needs, and abilities; interacts professionally with staff, physicians, patients, and families to ensure effective care delivery.
- Communicates effectively to all staff through verbal reports and written documentation and attends necessary administrative meetings to disseminate important information to off‑shift staff.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs both in and out of the facility.
- Attends all education programs, mandatory in‑service meetings, and other required training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Graduation from a school of professional nursing, BS in nursing, or healthcare‑related field preferred.
Experience:
1‑2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
Registration and current RN license in the State of Connecticut; CPR certification.
