Location: 8 Enterprise Rd, Wallingford, CT 06492

Pay rate: $23-25ph, depending on experience

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm.

Contract: Contract-to-hire, dependent upon business needs and performance

Interviews: 2 Phone screenings + Onsite

The Quality Control Inspector II position is an intermediate level position responsible for monitoring and inspecting products manufactured by the Company. The QC Inspector will ensure the products meet quality standards, identify issues regarding quality of products and make recommendations for improvement. This role will also help to ensure suppliers improve supplier performance and help the Company in selecting suppliers that meet specified requirements.

The Quality Control Inspector will report to the Quality Manager at the facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Check and test samples of a product.
  • Inspect products purchased by their company from suppliers and maintain records of supplier performance.
  • To carry out the inspection related activities of all components and assemblies
  • Dimensional and visual in-process inspection in conjunction with controlled drawings and applicable specifications.
  • Receiving inspection of all jobs performed in the facility
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
  • Responsible for inspecting products using established inspection tools and techniques.
  • Apply Weatherford, and where appropriate Client Company Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Policy and Management Systems.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have 2+ years of manufacturing experience (operator/inspector/trades) and machining experience. Oilfield machine shop experience will be an added advantage.
  • Experience using measuring hand tools (calipers, micrometers, micro height, durometers)
  • Experience using computers - Microsoft Suite, ERP-manufacturing
  • Ability to read blueprints/drawings/schematics - parts/electrical/any other type
  • Mechanical-Technical acumen
  • Experience with QMS- knowledge of ISO 9001 and API
  • Knowledge of VAM, Tenaris thread inspection
  • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) preferred.
  • Good knowledge about purchase process followed in Manufacturing plant in an MNC preferred.
