Quality Assurance Inspector – Mechanical

APS Tech LLC is seeking a detail-oriented entry-level Mechanical Quality Assurance Inspector to join our Quality Assurance team. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, this position is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, first-piece inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.

In this role, you will perform first-piece, in-process, receiving, and final inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and internal quality standards. You will maintain accurate inspection records and ensure all required certifications and documentation are complete before products are released for shipment.
You will use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, verniers, height stands, gauges, and other inspection equipment to verify product dimensions and quality. You will also help maintain inspection fixtures, gauges, and measuring devices to ensure accurate measurements and reliable documentation.
Additional responsibilities include preparing shipping documentation, assisting with loading and unloading materials as needed, performing receiving inspections, and occasionally making deliveries to customers or vendors. You will also support general housekeeping and other departmental duties as assigned.
We are looking for someone who has:
- One to two years of mechanical inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and height stands.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions while working under general supervision.
- Commitment to meeting production schedules while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Distinguish colors when required for inspection activities.
- Detect small burrs and defects as small as.010" with the naked eye (corrective lenses acceptable).
- Accurately read precision measuring equipment including micrometers and vernier scales.
- Hear normal conversation (hearing aids acceptable).
- Frequently use precision measuring tools and hand inspection equipment.
- Demonstrate excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Move throughout a manufacturing environment safely.
