Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing day to day quality inspection activities to ensure products and manufacturing processes meet required specifications and quality standards. The Quality Inspector will work both independently and as part of a team to support production schedules while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and product quality.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and advanced inspections throughout the manufacturing process
- Complete dimensional inspections and First Article Inspections
- Inspect products using engineering drawings, sketches, specifications, and written work instructions
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, drop gauges, and other inspection tools
- Perform visual inspections in a production environment
- Develop hands on proficiency with composite inspection processes
- Document inspection results, discrepancies, and nonconformances
- Perform product and process audits
- Collect and document data used for Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Provide inspection related technical input to Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing
- Identify material or process discrepancies and communicate quality concerns to supervision
- Follow established safety, hazardous material handling, and disposal procedures
- Maintain accurate inspection documentation and a clean, organized work area
- Support production and quality requirements while working independently or as part of a team
- Perform additional quality related responsibilities as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Minimum of 3 years of hands on quality inspection experience
- Experience performing dimensional and visual inspections in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and detailed work instructions
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, drop gauges, and similar measuring equipment
- Working knowledge of basic shop math, including decimals and fractions
- Ability to identify discrepancies in materials, products, and manufacturing processes
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office; SAP experience is applicable to the role
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
- Must be able to perform physical activities requiring fine manual dexterity
