Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) seeks an experienced, results-oriented business development professional to support growth, market expansion, and revenue generation for the Chime Net business unit. Chime Net, an affiliate of CHA, is a well-established Connecticut-based information technologies (IT) managed service provider, offering innovative solutions and 24/7/365 support for hospitals and health systems, schools and municipalities, and commercial businesses. Through Chime Net, CHA provides information technology services for member hospitals and other entities, including network connectivity and equipment, network security, data center, and cloud infrastructure.

Chime Net provides member and customer value by combining internally developed services and infrastructure with services offered by telecommunications carriers, equipment manufacturers, and other service providers to deliver vendor-agnostic best-of-breed IT solutions.

This business development professional will drive business growth by proactively identifying, cultivating, and converting new customer opportunities, expanding relationships with existing clients and strategic partners, and positioning Chime Net solutions to meet evolving market and customer needs. In partnership with operational and technical teams, this role will support proposals, presentations, and account strategies that advance CHA’s strategic priorities and strengthen Chime Net’s market presence.

DESCRIPTION

OF DUTIES
  • Lead Chime Net’s business development efforts by identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new opportunities, maintaining an active sales pipeline, and converting opportunities into new or expanded customer relationships that support CHA’s strategic and financial objectives.
  • Develop, implement, execute, and manage sales, marketing, and business development activities to support Chime Net’s short- and long-term growth initiatives, including market research, prospect outreach, pipeline management, portfolio review, proposal development, pricing coordination, and contract support.
  • Expand Chime Net’s market presence by preparing outreach materials, coordinating customer and prospect meetings, developing follow-up communications, supporting product and service updates, and helping implement sales tactics to increase market share within hospitals, physician practices, schools, municipalities, and other target markets.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with decision makers and influencers in targeted accounts. Monitor account activity and dashboard metrics, update customer information, and help identify and elevate delivery dates, cost concerns, or other deliverables that may be at risk.
  • Work directly with the operations team to review customer needs, assess project risks, follow up on open items, and help keep business development activities aligned with operational capacity and financial goals.
  • Collaborate with the technical team on customer requirements, solution scoping, network design considerations, implementation planning, and service delivery documentation to help ensure proposals and customer commitments are accurate and achievable.
  • Participate in internal planning discussions, share customer feedback, contribute to process improvements, and support a collaborative team environment focused on service responsiveness, successful customer outcomes, and sustainable business growth.
REQUIREMENTS

Education:

The preferred candidate will have bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, information technology, computer science, management information systems, or a related field required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

Skills:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of business development experience in the high-tech industry, including at least 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure deployment with telecom carrier technology and services, sales development, and/or strategic consulting
  • Managed service provider (MSP) experience required; hospital/healthcare and municipality/education experience preferred
  • Understanding of telecommunications, colocation, and network security services essential
  • Direct sales experience and proven ability to meet identified sales metrics, including pipeline growth, sales activity KPIs, conversion ratios and revenue growth
  • Strong verbal and written communication and analytical skills, proven leadership capabilities, superior negotiation and relationship management skills, and the ability to function successfully in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated aptitude for working with complex technical accounts, including building and maintaining relationships with key decision makers. Ability to successfully negotiate solutions with peers, partners and customers
  • Effective leader with a strong work ethic and desire to guide and develop talent within the team
  • Critical thinker who is able to function effectively in a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary, team-oriented environment
