Commercial Refrigeration Installer
We are seeking skilled and experienced Commercial Refrigeration Installers to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, setup, and commissioning of commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers/freezers, display cases, rack systems, and related components. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, pipe, wire, and start up commercial refrigeration systems according to manufacturer specifications and blueprints.
- Set up and connect components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, and controls.
- Perform brazing, soldering, and pipe fitting for refrigeration systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Test systems for proper operation, leaks, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Work with other trades (electricians, plumbers, general contractors) on job sites.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Document work performed and communicate with supervisors and clients.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times.
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school or HVAC/R certification.
- 2+ years of experience in commercial refrigeration installation or a related field.
- EPA 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required.
- Proficient in brazing, refrigerant piping, and electrical wiring.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical diagrams, and mechanical plans.
- Familiarity with supermarket refrigeration systems (a plus).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in various environments, and use ladders or lifts as needed.
Skills:
- Experience with supermarket rack systems and EMS (Energy Management Systems).
- OSHA 10/30 Certification.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Work is performed at various commercial job sites including supermarkets, warehouses, and retail stores.
- May require occasional overtime, weekend, or evening work based on project needs.
- Travel may be required for out-of-town installations.
