CDL Driver
This position is a critical support role for the Transportation Team. As a Driver, duties include transporting goods to routes in a commercial vehicle, making deliveries and pickups to and from school sites and warehouses, and communicating with management team and dispatchers.
Principle responsibilities include safely operating a commercial vehicle, loading and unloading cargo, reading locations and road maps, performing basic truck maintenance, inspecting vehicles for mechanical and safety issues before and after each trip, meeting delivery schedules while maintaining safe work practices, properly tracking and documenting driving logs on an ELD, reporting any issues or incidents to dispatch, following all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries, and other duties as requested.
Required skills include previous experience in truck driving or other related fields, a valid commercial driver's license, ability to handle physical workload, ability to work in all types of weather and environments, strong work ethic, commercial driver's license, DOT medical certificate and motor vehicle record (10 years of history), 10-year DMV driving record history dated no later than 30 days with no more than 2 points, touch freight experience preferred, must be at least 21 years of age, pass a DOJ and criminal background check, and speak and read English satisfactorily to converse with the public and understand traffic signs and signals.
Respond to official questions and make legible entries on reports and records.
Education/experience includes CDL B (required) and passing a driver's road test or equivalent.

Working conditions and physical demands include sitting or standing as needed, walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day, reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday, proper lifting techniques are required, and may include lifting to 25 pounds on occasion.
