Part-Time Library Assistant

The Wallington Library is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Library Assistant to join our busy, newly established library. The ideal candidate will be responsible for circulation duties, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting day-to-day library operations. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working with both patrons and fellow staff members.

• Charge and discharge library materials, collect fines, register new patrons and issue library cards.
• Maintain order by sorting and filing, putting books and other materials in their proper places and re-shelving returned material.
• Sending weekly programming emails to patrons.
• Help promote and execute monthly adult programming.
• Create flyers and digital assets for upcoming programming.
• Assist with maintenance of the library’s website and social media accounts.

• Experience with BCCLS is preferred.
• A minimum of one year experience in a library or customer-centric service setting.
• Possess excellent customer service skills.
• Proficiency with computers is expected.
• Must be able to perform light lifting and bending.

• 3-4 Saturdays per month, 10:00 a.m.
  
  -4:00 p.m.
• Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 3:00 p.m.
  
  -8:00 p.m.
• Thursdays, 12:00 p.m.
  
  -5:00 p.m.
• Flexibility with work hours is required, as schedules may vary based on library needs.

Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour commensurate with education and experience.
