We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to fill a full-time position within the Finance Department. This role is responsible for processing accounts payable, administering payroll and employee benefits, and assisting with pension-related and civil service reporting. The successful candidate must have prior experience using Edmunds and ADS software.

Responsibilities include accurately processing accounts payable, including invoice entry, approvals, payments, and preparation of the bills list for Council approval. The clerk will prepare and process semi‑monthly payroll in compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, manage employee benefits such as health insurance administration, paid time off tracking, and benefit enrollments. Other duties: handling pension contributions, reporting, and related documentation;

maintaining and updating employee records in accordance with internal policies and legal requirements; responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits in a timely and professional manner; reconciling payroll‑related accounts; assisting with year‑end reporting requirements such as W‑2s, ACA reporting, and 1099‑NEC/MISC filings; collaborating with Human Resources and Finance staff to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.

Qualified candidates must have proven experience in accounts payable, payroll, benefits administration, and civil service processes, along with required proficiency in Edmunds and ADS software. A strong understanding of payroll laws and pension systems is essential, as is a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is expected.

An associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
