Job Description

Position Title:

Porter

Department: NJ Janitorial

FTE/Classification:
Part-Time/Non-Exempt

Reports To:

Assistant Director of Maintenance

Location:

Various Locations

Primary Function

Responsible for cleaning contracted buildings and office space.

Monday through Friday (5:00 p.m.

- 7:30 p.m.) and Saturday (3:00 p.m.

- 5:30 p.m.).

Essential Functions
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using specific cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary for the cleanliness of the building.
    • Requirements
    • One year of janitorial experiences (preferred but not required)
    • Ability to get to job site for required shifts
