Job Title:Accounts Receivable Analyst
Job Description
A benefits administration company is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Analyst to join their accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for interfacing with participating employers to process contributions for health, welfare, and pension benefits for their employees.
Responsibilities- Process monthly contributions for participating employers using Microsoft Excel.
- Create test files for data uploads to the company mainframe.
- Process and review manual calculations ensuring the accuracy of system-generated calculations.
- Download daily lockbox details, apply payments to specific accounts, and allocate receipts to appropriate Funds.
- Reconcile and invoice for differences, preparing billing documents and discrepancy letters.
- Balance monthly receipts to bank statements and prepare totals for monthly general ledger updates.
- Perform file transfer, receipt, and collection of dependent premiums.
- Research, prepare, bill, and document the status of compliance audits, account reconciliations, and withdrawal liability.
- Research and bill receivable balances including liquidated damages, providing supporting documentation identifying amounts due.
- Coordinate arbitrations and collection actions for unpaid contributions in conjunction with counsel and management.
- Perform all rate maintenance, including preparation of input sheets and updates to agreement codes, participation, rate lines, and rate tables.
- Analyze inquiries from other departments or business associates regarding contribution data to prepare and load adjustments for monthly hours.
- Maintain all facets of the employer account relationship, including account setup and termination, updates to contact information, and assisting employers with their requests.
- Respond professionally and articulately to client inquiries, providing detailed descriptions of complex procedures and concepts.
- Review collective bargaining agreements and trust agreements to communicate with employers, external auditors, and union locals regarding contribution reporting requirements.
- Prepare submissions to the Board of Trustees, including payment plans and settlement proposals with the calculation of payment plan interest.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly statistical reports, and format information for ad hoc data requests.
- Create and update department processes for each new and assigned task, developing and testing new procedures.
- Assist in regular cross‑training and proofreading activities.
- Assist with general office duties and ensure the workspace is kept clean.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Proficiency in accounts receivable processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, vlookups, and hlookups.
- Strong accounting and data analysis skills.
- Experience in billing, collections, and reconciliation.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics.
- General ledger and monthly reconciliation experience.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics.
- 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting.
This role is 100% on‑site with no work‑from‑home option available. The work environment is professional and requires maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Walnut Creek, CA.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
