Accounts Payable Clerk

Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Walnut Creek, California on a Contract basis. This role supports day-to-day payables operations and is well suited for someone who is organized, detail-focused, and comfortable managing invoice activity in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will help keep payment workflows accurate and timely while working closely with internal stakeholders to maintain efficient financial processes.

Responsibilities:

- Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approvals before processing

- Assign appropriate general ledger codes to invoices and enter payment details into the accounting system

- Manage high-volume invoice processing while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines

- Prepare and support check runs to ensure vendors are paid according to established schedules

- Reconcile payable records and help resolve discrepancies related to invoices, purchase orders, or payments

- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to answer payment questions and address outstanding issues

- Maintain organized accounts payable documentation and ensure records are up to date for audit and reporting needs

- Use Yardi and related systems to process transactions and support daily accounts payable activities
