Position OverviewSenior Civil Construction Inspector – a senior field role accountable for ensuring design intent, quality, safety and compliance on civil projects, including roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, pipelines and related infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Conduct and document observations of construction progress for civil infrastructure projects.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, identifying discrepancies or conflicts.
- Mentor and supervise junior field staff as needed.
- Collaborate with field representatives, Project Managers, and other stakeholders.
- Serve as the most senior inspector on projects when required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Experience in Roads and Bridges.
- Relevant industry certifications.
- Ability to interpret construction schedules.
- High school diploma or equivalent; 8 years of relevant inspection experience may substitute.
- Minimum of 5 years construction inspection experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
- Compliance with HDR’s Drug & Alcohol Policy, including required pre‑employment drug screening.
