Assistant Project Manager

Assistant Project Manager - Walnut Creek, CA

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of commercial construction projects in the Walnut Creek area. This position will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to help drive projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

+ Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting.

+ Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.

+ Support subcontractor buyout, contract administration, and procurement activities.

+ Assist in maintaining project schedules and tracking key milestones.

+ Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and field teams.

+ Participate in project meetings and maintain meeting notes and action items.

+ Help ensure project quality, safety, and compliance requirements are met.

+ Monitor project progress and communicate updates to project stakeholders.

+ Support project closeout, punch list completion, and turnover documentation.

+ Maintain accurate records in Procore and other project management systems.

Requirements

+ 4+ years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Construction Coordinator.

+ Experience working for a General Contractor preferred.

+ Commercial construction experience preferred.

+ Understanding of construction processes including RFIs, submittals, change orders, scheduling, and procurement.

+ Strong organizational and communication skills.

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

+ Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and related construction software.

+ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
