Substitute Teacher
The Walnut Creek School District is seeking substitute teachers to be on call as needed to cover certificated personnel absences. Substitute teachers are required to commit to working at least one day a week. At this time we are only accepting applicants with Multiple or Single Subject credentials, active Substitute permits or a Certificate of Clearance on file with the CTC and a substitute permit pending.
Substitute Teacher candidates are required to pay a $64 fingerprinting fee which is refundable after completing the equivalent of 5 full days of substitute teaching. Fingerprinting completed in other districts is not accepted. Due to a large number of applicants, priority will be given to substitute teachers willing to work in high need areas such as Special Day Classes and Physical Education Classes.

Applications reviewed and accepted throughout the school year. The Walnut Creek School District is located in Northern California in the Bay Area. We operate five K-5 neighborhood elementary schools (three with TK), one K-8 school, and one 6-8 intermediate school. Grades TK-5 are primarily self-contained, while grades 6-8 offer a mixture of core and elective classes. The district serves a population of approximately 3,600 students within the city of Walnut Creek.
