- Work as a key member of a team with ability to write and create an environmental document for CEQA and/or NEPA clearance, analyze and review technical studies, permit applications or similar reports in a collaborative setting involving a multitude of technical experts.
- Prepare and oversee research and investigations of technical environmental topics to understand the constraints and opportunities and determine the potential impact findings in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments
- Collect project-related data, which may include research, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, and land use
- Prepare constraints mapping
- Work with Caltrans, FHWA, MTC, BART, VTA, FTA, FRA, FAA or other transportation agencies and follow their guidance to complete the appropriate level of analysis.
- Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings.
- Organized to maintain day-to-day communication (verbal and written) with the project team and client representatives, support technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants, keep project on schedule and within budget, and maintain client satisfaction
- Perform other duties as needed
- Experience working on CEQA and/or NEPA documentation for transportation related projects: trails, streets, highways, transit, rail and aviation.
- Master''s Degree
- Experience working with Caltrans
- Experience managing tasks, staff and projects
- Experience working with Transportation/Transit Agencies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present in front of clients and the public
- Proficiency with GIS and MS Office Suite
- Bachelor''s degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
- A minimum of 5 years environmental experience
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
