Tax Senior Associate - Corporate Tax - NorCal

Responsibilities

• Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing various tax compliance and consulting services to middle market corporate clients.
• Provide tax compliance and advisory services to c‑corporations, s‑corporations, and partnerships ranging from middle market to multinational companies, including ASC 740 expertise.
• Participate in tax research projects, draft IRS responses, and address other tax authority inquiries.
• Team with leaders on special projects in various areas of tax.
• Develop recommendations for the client and share with leadership to discuss and strategize.
• Communicate and collaborate with specialty tax practices on complex state, local, high‑net‑worth, international, research‑and‑development, and credit/incentive matters.
• Learn and grow from direct on‑the‑job coaching, mentoring, and firm‑wide learning and development programs.
• Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong internal and client relationships.
• Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or law, or a related business degree, with enough coursework and credits to sit for the CPA and/or Bar exam in the state being considered.
• CPA, EA, or JD license preferred.
• Two (2)+ years of experience providing tax compliance and consulting services in a public accounting firm.
• Demonstrated skills in time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving.
• Strong leadership, project management, organizational, and analytical skills, initiative, and adaptability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.

• In Walnut Creek, CA: $98,000 to $128,690.
• In Santa Clara, CA: $88,000 to $123,740.
• In Santa Rosa, CA: $85,500 to $108,420.
