RoleSpecifics
Advisor Development Program – Financial Advisor. This role is designed for individuals who want to transition into a career as a Financial Advisor. Responsibilities include identifying client needs, building relationships, reviewing financial goals, and delivering comprehensive recommendations. You’ll collaborate and be mentored by Merrill Financial Advisor Teams to promote portfolio growth.
Responsibilities- Develop and grow a book of business to meet and exceed performance goals.
- Prioritize sourcing prospective clients: capitalizing on referrals, assessing customer needs, and executing customized solutions.
- Recommend suitable investment products and services based on objectives, resources, time horizon, risk profile, and preferences.
- Balance investment growth, referral activities, client follow‑up, prospect building, administrative compliance, and personal growth.
- Organize and manage resources (time, people, budget) to run a productive practice.
- Seek specialist expertise when appropriate for planning and investment strategies.
- Complete required training, assessments, performance goals, and continuing education.
- Handle inbound inquiries from leads, position Merrill and Bank of America capabilities, and collect client profile data following KYC procedures.
- Provide interim Financial Advisor recommendations and service client accounts, documenting all interactions in Salesforce.
- Current Series 7 & 66 (or Series 63 & 65 in lieu of 66) licenses.
- Minimum one year experience in the financial services industry and/or sales environment where goals were met or exceeded.
- Minimum one year experience in the investments industry, including investment training and in‑depth knowledge of investment products and services.
- Proven ability to engage with and influence others.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to build trust and credibility quickly.
- Ability to assess needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Collaborative team player with key partner relationships.
- Strong listening and probing skills.

This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. All employees engaged in residential loan mortgage originations must register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing. Failure to obtain and/or maintain SAFE Act registration may result in immediate termination.
Shift and Location- Shift: 1st shift (United States of America).
- Locations:
Napa – 700 MAIN ST (CA3811), Pleasanton – 4900 Hopyard Rd (CA4808), Walnut Creek – 1331 N CALIFORNIA BLVD (CA4813).
Pay range: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 annualized salary, determined by experience, education and skill set. Eligible for a formulaic incentive plan. Employees may earn monthly, quarterly, and/or annual incentive opportunities based on performance metrics.
