Role OverviewShadelands Post Acute is looking for a passionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic in-house therapy team. In this role, you will work under the direction of our Occupational Therapists to help residents regain their independence and improve their quality of life. - Patient Treatment:
Implement therapeutic treatments as directed by the Occupational Therapist and the physician's care plan to help patients master activities of daily living. - Clinical Documentation:
Maintain meticulous records, including daily treatment notes and weekly progress reports, in full compliance with the OT Board State Practice Act and payer requirements. - Interdisciplinary
Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with supervisors and the broader healthcare team regarding patient progress, goals, and discharge plans. - Education & Training:
Instruct nursing staff and families in maintenance programs and caregiver techniques; assist in training Restorative Aides. - Discharge Planning:
Actively participate in the discharge process to ensure patients have a safe and successful transition home. - Environment Stewardship:
Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area to ensure a safe, high-functioning therapy environment.

- A valid, current Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) License in the state of California.
