YOUR ROLE

Wind River is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Intellectual Property Analyst to support the company's governance, compliance, intellectual property, and strategic initiatives related to artificial intelligence and open source software.

This role combines technical understanding, risk management, policy implementation, and stakeholder engagement to help ensure that Wind River's engineering practices and product offerings align with internal governance standards, customer commitments, and applicable licensing requirements.

The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, highly organized, and interested in helping engineering teams navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of open source software, and artificial intelligence technologies.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTEIn your daily work, you will:
  • Review open source software components and dependencies for license compliance and alignment with Wind River's Open Source Policy.
  • Evaluate AI technologies, tools, models, datasets, and related workflows for compliance with Wind River's AI Governance policies and risk management requirements.
  • Review and approve requests involving open source software usage, distribution, and contribution activities.
  • Review and approve employee contributions to open source communities and projects.
  • Support intellectual property review processes and help identify potential licensing, attribution, ownership, and compliance risks.
  • Educate engineering teams, contractors, and other stakeholders on open source licensing, AI governance, intellectual property considerations, and company policies.
  • Implement, monitor, and continuously improve governance processes, workflows, and compliance controls.
  • Partner with Legal, Engineering, Product Management, Security, Sales, and Marketing to address open source and AI governance questions.
  • Assist with customer, partner, and supplier discussions involving open source software, licensing obligations, and AI-related governance requirements.
  • Track regulatory, industry, and technology developments related to AI governance, open source software, and intellectual property.
  • Support audits, reporting activities, and internal compliance assessments related to AI and open source programs.
Required Qualifications

While experience in AI governance or open source compliance is beneficial, candidates are not expected to be experts in all areas. Wind River will provide training and mentorship to help develop the knowledge needed for success in this role.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
