Rockwood Door is seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Custom Woodworker to join its production team. This is a hands‑on production role for someone who values precision, takes ownership of quality, and wants to produce work they can be proud of. The right candidate will help build high‑quality custom wood doors and components by following specifications, operating equipment safely, maintaining standards, and contributing to a team that cares deeply about doing things right.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in woodworking, carpentry, machining, or manufacturing who wants to keep growing in skill, responsibility, and versatility. Success in this role includes consistently producing accurate, high‑quality work; reading and following drawings, measurements, and specifications with confidence; working safely, steadily, and responsibly throughout the day; taking pride in craftsmanship; contributing to a dependable, team‑first production environment;
and becoming increasingly capable across multiple areas of the shop over time.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and production details accurately.
- Fabricate, machine, sand, assemble, and prepare wood components to specification.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and woodworking machinery safely and effectively.
- Check work for accuracy, fit, finish, and overall quality throughout production.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work with teammates to keep production moving while maintaining quality standards.
- Communicate clearly when something is off, unclear, or needs attention.
- Support other production tasks as needed to help the team succeed.
- Experience in woodworking, carpentry, cabinetmaking, door hanging, machining, or a related hands‑on field.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools with confidence.
- Ability to read drawings, follow measurements, and work with precision.
- Strong attention to detail and respect for quality workmanship.
- Dependability, consistency, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work well with others in a production environment.
- Physical ability to lift materials and remain on your feet throughout the workday.
- Understanding of safe work practices in a manufacturing or shop setting.
- Willingness to learn, improve, and become highly capable in custom production work.
- Experience with machine maintenance, electrical work, or dust collection systems is a plus but not required.
- Full‑time position with competitive pay ($16–25 per hour).

- Position details:
Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM with overtime as needed, on location in Walnut Creek, Ohio.
