Job Description:

The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
Education- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 1year nursing – emergency (required)
- 1year nursing – critical care may be considered in lieu of ER experience
- 1year nursing – medical acute care and previous emergency department cross‑trained experience within 2years of hire
- Certification as an Emergency Nurse (CEN) or completion of an Emergency Nursing training program
- Registered Nursing – California Board of Nursing (RN) (required)
- BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required)
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support – American Heart Association (required)
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support – American Heart Association (required)
- TNCC Trauma Nurse Core Course – Emergency Nurses Association (preferred, but required to work with trauma patients at WCMC)
- Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test – must pass at time of hire (required if hired after 11/15/2018)
- NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale – competency required at end of orientation and annually thereafter
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective team motivation and leadership
12:00pm–6:00am (scheduled 36hours per week). Shift is not waive‑able.
PayHourly rate of $87.06–$118.62, based on demonstrated experience and/or licensure. Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside the Bay Area.
