Job Description Bi-Bett Corporation is a California based non-profit organization engaged in the treatment and recovery of adults who suffer from substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, and other social determinants of health.

Originally based in Contra Costa County, Bi-Bett now operates residential, outpatient and DUI programs in Alameda and Solano Counties as well.

Job Description Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care within their scope of practice in a substance use treatment setting. Duties include supporting client care through monitoring, basic clinical assessments, documentation, and coordination with clinical and medical staff.

The LVN assists with gathering intake information, monitoring clients’ physical status, and documenting observations that support treatment planning. The LVN collaborates with licensed clinicians and registered/certified counseling staff to ensure accurate and timely documentation and to support the determination of medical necessity for new and continuing clients.

The LVN may assist in reviewing charts for completeness, tracking treatment progress, and communicating any medical or behavioral concerns to the supervising RN, LPHA, or program leadership. While the LVN does not diagnose or independently determine level of care, they play a critical role in supporting the clinical team by providing nursing observations that contribute to assessments based on ASAM Criteria and other treatment guidelines.

The LVN promotes a safe and therapeutic environment, supports medication services as permitted under their license, and contributes to overall client engagement and quality of care within the program.

Responsibilities:

Evaluates continuously the quality of medical care for the clients

Communicates all pertinent client related medical information to program/facility staff members and MD per HIPPA related rules and regulations

Maintains compliance with company exposure plan to include OSHA and blood borne pathogens

Completes / Reviews all new client History and Physical information within 24 hours of new client admission

Updates IMS physician to information, medications and pertinent client information

Completes and reads TB tests for all new client admissions

Medication orders for client by M.D. prescriptions

Completes documentation in EMRResponsible for completion/review of client under the direction of the Program Coordinator and LPHAServe as the first line of response for client questions – respond directly to general medical questions and provide screening for questions requiring MD input to ensure that adequate information is gathered to allow MD to respond appropriately

Updates clients to lab and test results as needed

Assists the counseling staff for clients that require referrals or follow up post-discharge

Qualifications:

Current California LVN license in good standing

Requires the ability to work in a dynamic fast paced work environment

Candidates will possess good analytical, interpersonal, problem solving, and decision-making skills

Minimum of one (1) year experience in an outpatient or residential facility treatment setting as a Licensed Vocational Nurse Sitting for long periods of time, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs.

Ability to travel between facilities on a regular basis

Maintains professional relationships with clients, MD, facility staff as well as external providers and professional communities

Additional compensation may be available to those who are bilingual in both English and Spanish.
