Genova Delicatessen is looking for new personable, energetic, and attentive people to help serve our loyal customers; by providing services behind the deli counter, with their grocery purchases, taking catering orders, and giving that Genova family experience they have expected with over 90 years serving Walnut Creek and the surrounding neighborhoods.

• Warmly greet customers with a smile
• Have a positive attitude with warm and friendly customer service
• Take and serve food/drink orders
• Make delicious handcrafted sandwiches
• Serve hot deli items
• Slice and weigh deli items for customer orders (requires use of deli slicers)
• Ensure the highest quality and ensure customer satisfaction by changing or correcting any portion of their order so they are happy and satisfied
• Adhere to all applicable health department and safety rules/regulations
• Handle cash and card transactions through Square
• Arrange and stock grocery displays
• Maintain a clean and healthy food handling service area
• Be a fine representative of the Genova family to loyal customers

• Experience in retail, sales, and/or hospitality and service
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Quick learner and attentive to detail
• Highly motivated and can work independently with little direction
• Positive attitude and customer satisfaction oriented
• Must be able to lift and carry 35 pounds
• Current Food Handler's Card
• Previous experience in deli services a plus!
• Knowledge of traditional Italian food and culture a plus!

Genova Delicatessen is a classic Italian delicatessen with two stores located in Walnut Creek, California. We offer the absolute best in catering services and have our own factory where we create authentic Italian entrees, raviolis, sauces, pastas, and delicacies to sell in finer retailers throughout Northern California.
Homemade and kitchen fresh, Genova Delicatessen evokes the true quality of traditional Italian food. Our recipes (and our family) come from beautiful Genova, a small port city in Northern Italy. Since we established the first Genova Delicatessen in Oakland, California in 1926, our delis have been famous for our fresh bread, specialty cheeses, and the best cuts of meat, and specialty groceries.

We support and source locally whenever possible, and don’t use preservatives in any of our products. Everything we make and serve is FDA approved.
