The Golf Sales Associate at The Golf Mart promotes and maintains a store culture consistent with Worldwide Golf’s values, including the “Sure No Problem” philosophy.
- Maintain awareness of all golf product knowledge, terminology, merchandise promotions, demo merchandise and sale advertisements.
- Evaluate customers’ needs, apply knowledge of golf equipment features and benefits, and make recommendations on the right golf equipment for the customer.
- Educate customers on our golf products and help them compare differences to make an educated decision.
- Operate launch monitor and golf simulator equipment to provide customers with valuable data during in‑store experience.
- Assist with floor moves, merchandising, and keeping the sales floor organized and clean to meet Worldwide Golf’s standards.
- Research merchandise availability via computer database; requisition merchandise from the stockroom and take inventory of stock where needed.
- Once fully trained, recognize and suggest ways to improve processes.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
- Ability to spend work time standing or moving around the store. Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting (up to 15 pounds), carrying, walking, and/or reaching on a frequent basis.
- Working knowledge of word‑processing, spreadsheet, inventory, internet, and order processing systems.
- Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
- Golf knowledge/background is required.
- Any experience working in the golf industry is a plus (entry‑level candidates will also be considered).
The hourly rate for this position is $12.00 - $18.00 per hour, plus a commission rate between 1.75% and 6% based on department and product. Individual starting rate within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
