Starting / Initial Base Salary Pay Range: $19.23–$38.46 per hour or $40,000–$80,000 per year.
Commission:
- 50%–150% of one month’s MRCs (monthly recurring charges)
- 1/12 of one‑time NRCs (non‑recurring charges)
- 1/24 of Burst
Tenured Base Salary Pay Range: $19.23–$48.07 per hour or $40,000–$100,000 per year, based on tenure and performance‑based pay increases.
Responsibilities- Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory via sourcing and hunting, and within a National Sales Territory focused on the Mid‑Market and non‑named National Account target market segments (up to 500–999 employees).
- Generate, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities by direct calling, email, and other contact efforts, working directly with key decision makers.
- Complement prospecting and selling efforts through field work such as building walks, lobby events, property management relationships, and face‑to‑face customer meetings.
- Leverage consultative and relationship‑building selling techniques to identify current and future connectivity solutions.
- Position Cogent’s services for new business opportunities with prospects and customers.
- Achieve monthly revenue goals by selling into the nation’s largest commercial and retail buildings; office parks and professional campuses.
- Previous sales experience (recent experience strongly preferred) with a proven track record of success.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and generate new business through extensive prospecting and research.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
- Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and familiarity with a CRM is a plus.
- A college degree is preferred but not required.
This is an in‑office position five days a week, designed to provide focused mentorship, training, and personal coaching.
