Senior Software Engineer – Accounting

This is a Sr Software Engineer role under our Geneva Product Development organization, working inside the Geneva Fund Accounting team to develop/maintain SS&C Geneva portfolio accounting product.

You will work with our product managers and QA teams to develop and maintain functionality for the Geneva product.

SS&C combines proprietary technology with deep industry expertise to support complex financial and health care operations. Our teams design, implement, and operate solutions that help clients manage data, automate processes, and scale their businesses with confidence.

You will work with industry experts, modern platforms, and evolving technologies, gaining exposure to real-world operational challenges and large-scale enterprise environments.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Work with Product Managers to understand client requirements, help design product specs through design iteration
• Develop new features according to product specs, in an iterative fashion based on agile principles
• Maintain existing product features by fixing internally and externally reported problems and working on escalations from clients
• Working with QA team while your development unit or bug fix is going through testing process

Required Experience

• Experience with compiled, object-oriented programming languages, C++ preferred
• Experience using Linux or Unix operating system
• Experience using debugging tools in Linux, such as gdb
• Experience developing backend of enterprise software
• Experience working in or to support financial industry is strongly preferred
• Understanding of basic accounting principles is preferred
• Understanding and experience using agentic AI harness such as claude code or Codex is preferred

Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.

California:
The expected base salary for the position is between 140,000 USD to 160,000 USD. In addition, employees in this role may be eligible for consideration on an annual basis for a discretionary bonus and/or equity awards, such as restricted stock units or stock options, based upon individual and business performance at the company's discretion.
