Role Description The Accounts Payable Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Walnut, CA. This position is responsible for processing vendor invoices, verifying accuracy, obtaining approvals, and ensuring timely payments. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining accounts payable records, performing account reconciliations, resolving invoice and payment discrepancies, and preparing reports for management. The role also involves monitoring vendor statements, supporting month-end closing activities, and collaborating with the accounting and finance teams to maintain accurate financial data.
The Accounts Payable Accountant is expected to uphold internal controls, follow company policies, and support continuous improvement of accounting processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Accounting skills, including knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Candidates should possess Finance-related skills, including understanding of cash flow, expense tracking, and financial documentation.
- Candidates should possess Account Reconciliation skills, including experience reconciling vendor accounts, statements, and general ledger entries.
- Candidates should possess Invoice Processing and Invoicing skills, including data entry accuracy and familiarity with accounts payable systems.
- Proficiency with accounting software, Sage 50, and Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- US Accredited Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Prior experience in accounts payable or general accounting in a retail or luxury goods environment is preferred.
