Work Schedule
Part‑time, 2 to 2.25‑hour openings for a 9.5‑month employee, Monday through Friday at various school sites during the 2025–2026 school year. The work hours vary by site and position.
Basic FunctionTo provide a safe environment for students during morning and noon times.
Essential Job Functions- Playground supervision of students during playtime and arrival time, ensuring that students are respecting others and demonstrating proper and safe use of the equipment (i.e. balls, ropes, swings, climbing bars)
- The willingness and ability to move about the assigned work area, being visible and interacting with the kids in a positive manner
- Resolve student conflicts and develop solutions to student issues
- Managing the behavior of students during their lunchtime, including moving among students while they are eating, reminding them to pick up their trash and excusing them to the playground in a safe manner
- Other appropriate duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities
Required:
- Skill to: Communicate effectively with students and staff
- Knowledge of: District and Site policies related to student behavior and supervision
- Ability to: Provide proactive supervision
- Experience:
None required. - Education:
Equivalent to the completion of high school.
Persons performing service in this position classification will be expected to perform light work, which involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. The work requires a good deal of walking or standing, or sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls.
To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities.
