Student Services Program Specialist II (Restricted Funds)

The Student Services Program Specialist II plays a key role in supporting the mission of the District's Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) and Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) programs by advancing student success, retention, and engagement among historically underserved student populations. This position is primarily responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of outreach, recruitment, student engagement, and application processing efforts that connect students to essential educational and support services.

In addition, in collaboration with EOPS/CARE staff and campus partners, the project/program specialist assists with planning and facilitating EOPS and CARE workshops, events, and student-centered activities that foster a sense of belonging, empowerment, and community. The position also provides ongoing support to EOPS and CARE students by helping them navigate available resources, encouraging persistence toward educational goals, and promoting pathways toward self-sufficiency and long-term success.

Knowledge of principles and practices of supporting a diverse, equitable, inclusive, socially just, anti-racist, and accessible academic and work environment. Applicable codes, regulations, policies, technical processes, and procedures related to the program to which assigned. Research and reporting methods, techniques, and procedures. Principles and practices of data collection and report preparation. Applicable federal, state, local, and College policies, codes, regulations, technical processes, and procedures related to the program to which assigned.

Computer applications used in the process of assisting students to attain their educational and training goals. Modern office practices, methods, and computer equipment and applications related to the work. Record keeping principles and procedures. Principles, practices, and techniques of effectively dealing with the public and basic public relations. English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation. Techniques for effectively representing the College in contacts with governmental agencies, community groups, and various business, professional, educational, regulatory, and legislative organizations.

Equivalent to an Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college; and two (2) full time equivalent years of experience in providing technical program support for a program.
